Frequently Asked Questions

How does Manor know what maintenance my home needs?

Manor utilizes publicly available data (e.g. regional weather patterns and municipal housing records) as well as info you can opt to provide along the way to become familiar with the features of your home. Manor’s algorithms use that knowledge to match relevant maintenance activities, and predict timing and pricing.

Will Manor solicit business from me or allow other companies to do so?

No. Before starting Manor, the company’s co-founders were homeowners in need of a partner they could trust to help care for their home. There’s nothing that erodes trust more than pressuring someone into paying for unnecessary service. Manor provides you with intelligent reminders, recommendations and data about your home, empowering you as a homeowner to decide whether and when to request service.

Will I be inundated with reminders?

No. Manor’s mission is to make homeownership easier and more enjoyable. That includes making home maintenance simpler and less burdensome. The Manor app provides intelligent reminders to help you keep up on important upkeep. You can always skip or suppress notifications for specific tasks or in general if you choose.

What if I have work that needs to be done and it wasn't automatically recommended by Manor?

No problem. You can simply add a task or project. If you’d like the item to become a recurring task you can simply mark it as such. When you do this Manor learns and improves its future recommendations.

How does Manor recommend pros?

Manor has a rigorous vetting process that includes reference and background checking and training of pros before they are recommended to homeowners. Manor also takes homeowner feedback very seriously. We will only work with pros who are the best at their trade and excel at client service.

Do I need to use Manor’s vetted pros, or can I use my own contacts?

You can absolutely use your own network. Manor exists to make home maintenance easier. The app will remind you when it’s time to perform upkeep and help you track completed tasks regardless of who performed the work. If you have a trusted contact, you are free to use them and we encourage customers to refer great tradespeople to Manor. That way you get the full benefit of Manor and existing relationship with your favorite pros.
